ri702bill 13,083 #2 Posted 7 hours ago On WSM from "The Mother Church", The Ryman Auditorium? TNN used to broadcast that live on Saturday nights... Back in the 1970's, the late great Marty Robbins was the last performer of the evening... last because he raced at the Nashville Speedway earlier that evening driving his "The El Paso Special". He was a great driver and stage performer..... 1

Sadly the times are changing but is allows old-timers like us to share a few memories with the younger generation if they will listen. 2

ri702bill 13,083 #6 Posted 2 hours ago Back in the 1990's, I was a fan of Lorrie Morgan. She is only 4 foot eleven, but sang & performed well. I saw her live at both Foxwoods and the now long gone Warwick Musical Theatre several times... I mentioned TNN - The Nashville Network prior. I had purchased a TNN Motorsports denim shirt ay the Fall NASCAR race in New Hampshire the year before I went to see her perform at Foxwoods. TNN was taping the show - I wore that shirt, had my ticket in the upper pocket - it covered the word "Motorsports", but the TNN was showing. I'm waiting to be seated and an usher takes me aside, thinking I was with the Network!! I ger seated down front, center stage - i was not going to complain! And I got picked to go up on stage with another person from the crowd to have Lorrie sing to us! I still have the four minute VHS tape of that... Not bad.
