I was talking with my cousin today and he mentioned ignition module coil,  He was a mechanic in the Air Force. Rebuilding engines stuff like that so it sounds like he knows what he’s talking about.

This is for Kohler engines. I found on eBay for $35. It covers K141 all the way up to 301s and beyond just wondering if anybody has ever tried This. Would be nice not to mess with points anymore more.  Let me know your experience with these. Any comments are welcome.

Do you have any pics or links?

I've seen a module that replaces the  condenser but the points are still needed.  

Supposedly the points do wear less.... but Kohler points really don't get replaced often anyway.

That will NOT work for any Starter/Generator or gear drive starter engines.

That is a standard magneto used for ignition only. Can be used on any Kohler K series if you already have the correct flywheel and mount.

Looks like this may have been used when the electronic breakerless ignition systems were being introduced.       New one on me too.

 

Magneto ignition coil used with points and condenser 4775520-S

Used in the K301S-47147b with Bendix starter and 10 amp stator. Conflicting info in the Kohler parts manuals.

 

1968 Charger 12 model 1-7231 - Late production but tractor model number stayed the same

I can tell you instantly that is for a magneto ignition system .. coil is the same as used on Tecumseh part number 30560A  where the coil is a slip fit over the armature laminations that bolt up under flywheel .. wont replace points at all, its used WITH points and condenser - their use of "module" is misleading (they're "gaming" the search keywords)  only real difference between the kohler version and tecumseh version is usually the length of the spark plug wire (and aftermarket ones, in some cases, are too short for Kohler applications without changing spark plug wire routing - they were actually replacements for Tecumseh, but sold as kohler replacement.)

Paul, I know it has nothing to do with the breakerless ignition system. It is listed for '68 Charger 12, Raider 12, and Electro 12 models all of which had the Kohler gear drive Bendix starter. I was pointing out to @ebinmaine that as a rule things that are as a rule true become a bit less of a rule in Wheel Horse land. In '69 they were equipped with the breakerless ignition.
