It's all fun & games until you exceed the side tilt limit...

That video has it all - loss of steering control, loss of traction, and torture testing the pressurized lubrication system.

Probably better to hit that area with weed killer...

@ri702bill  @T-MoAGREE ON THAT  !  done a lot of  brush  clearing with tractors , could personally feel the danger zone  in that angle , basically it was his speed that made it scary . would also  have weed killed it , minimizing  bulk ,  pete

That ground is pretty common here in Greene Co. Pa. The farm boys here can make you nervous in these hey fields.

I have frontage that is about the same and I have just about 40' of it that I can't mow. I slide to the ditch.

There is a lot to learned for the vid. The best tip is keeping your front end higher then the rear wheels, very important. Notice when he is coming back around the tree and the front dips down how the machine starts to slide. 

The duals are a big help and he is working those turning brakes like a real pro. Lifts that brush hog just at the right time too!

Personally I wouldn’t let anyone near me when I was brush hogging after an experience years ago. I was cutting some light brush and had a guy with a weed wacker with a blade on it doing around the trees. All of a sudden it started shaking really bad, my first thought was that I sucked up a cable or wire rope. So I shut it down and lifted it up to inspect. As I was walking around I noticed a 8” gash that looked like a mouth opened up in the side of the unit. When I looked under it I noticed that one of the blades was missing! That explained the opening in the side of the deck. I quickly realized that could have severely injured or even killed the guy with the weed wacker. I looked everywhere for the blade, but couldn’t find it anywhere. I figured it probably buried itself somewhere in the underbrush. At that point I was done until I got new blades. Here’s where it gets crazy. A few months later I ran into the guy who owns the neighboring property. He said hey was that you that cut the underbrush on my neighbors property a while ago? I said yes, why do you ask? He said he found a brush hog blade stuck IN THE ROOF of his house!! His house was maybe a hundred feet away from where I was working but the blade was in the second story roof. It didn’t damage it, somehow it got stuck between the layers of shingles. When he noticed it he went up there and just pulled it out. He told me the blade was broken right at the mounting hole. I got really lucky that nobody got hurt or killed. Ever since then I would not allow anyone anywhere near me when I was cutting brush. I can’t imagine the energy that piece of steel had to punch through the deck and still travel that far and high?!

Remember back years ago when the state would mow with 800 series Ford tractors with side mounted sickle bar mowers.  If the road bank got to steep they would mow side by side to keep the upper tractor from sliding down and possibly turning over.

I notice the side hills along the freeway that get mowed - on angles that I wouldn't even consider trying.
