Saw this on marketplace..

thoughts on it.. practicality, useful for work? Price? Both engines make it have double the horsepower.. to lift it off the ground and shoot flames?

DEFINITELY.  

You bet all you own I'd put a trailer hitch on that pull logs.

Given the amount of engineering and fabrication there... that seems fair considering the condition.

There's where the usability is limited.  

 

In all seriousness,  the extra weight holding the front down would be cool but the extra power doesn't matter.

Not entirely useless. You'd get lots of looks at a tractor show. @Pullstart could use it to tow his new motorhome from the middle of the field!

Interesting build.  Looks like both engines are belted to a jack shaft that drives the transmission.  Can these engines be reversed? Seems the belts would be too short to reverse by twisting.

@FLtractor, where do you come up with all of these                      shall we say  INTERESTING  Wheel Horses?

With the correctly ground cam shaft the engine on the right could be made to turn counterclockwise (flywheel end) like automotive engines that are used as inboard twins. Is such a camshaft commercially available,  I doubt it.

If both engines ran hydraulic pumps whos rotation matched the engines and their combined output ran a hydraulic motor that powered the trans axle it could be functional.    Probably have to add a couple feet to the frame to do that. 

    Guess you could always connect both engines to a jackshaft after removing the pistons and rods from the right side engine allowing the other engine to rotate and make people think it is running backward and come up with a real good story about how you ground your own cam using a Dermal.

While looking at gearbox options for Colossus I found that there are options that include a 2 gear, same speed in/out rotation reverser.  

 

Someone needs to buy this just so we can disect it.

Might be worth the price if both engines are in good running order, and rest of tractor would be parts IMHO.
