The ME lab at college had a small stand-mounted gas turbine for experiments on airflow and fuel management. Hate to be a Debbie Downer BUT, If the intake runners were blocked off on six of the eight cylinders and their exhaust valves were jacked open and the two cylinders that were being fed were 180 degrees opposed then the two cylinder engine could easily start and run on an insufficient fuel / air supply. I about lost it when she tightened the carb mounting with metric slip joint pliers then jumped the solenoid with a Left Handed Crescent wrench!
