Whee Horse 102742 belts wearing poorly. Advice on better made ones.

Belt in photo is K Force brand A 102742 which is what my local parts place is pushing at 30 bucks plus.

This one was bought two seasons ago counting this mowing season and it’s not going to make it looks like..

Any info on better made belts appreciated..

You could try a Gates or Napa 6378 made to replace the original 102742

@rustyedge1 bet ya dollars to donuts , its  lubrication  failure related , from that pto cone inner needle bearing , to every  related belt / pulley set up , pulleys are probably  rough , noisy , COMBINED  INCREMENTAL  LUBRICATION FAILURE  , CREATES  BELT BOUNCE / WHINE, STOPAGE ,  would also not  be surprised if the pto lever start  area is also hanging up , increasing initial function  drag . what does it sound like ?   buzzing , vibratition  , you need  more than belts , pete

My local Lowes has the same blue belts as TSC, just different packaging.  They have every deck size I need except the 86" for the 42" SD deck.

Thanks all. Have a TSC just down the road believe I’ll try a blue one this time.

The mule drive pulleys seem to be solid and turning freely. Deck spindles all solid but it’s an old Horse

FYI, the belt should be on the larger PTO pulley for mowing.

Yes, the inside pulley will increase your blade speed.

That’s funny, the previous owner of my 314-8 had the belt on the smaller pulley. Couldn’t understand why it didn’t cut so good. I figured it out eventually.

I sold belts for 10 years. Usually belts even the cheap ones don't fall apart like that. Most of the time it's an alignment/sharp edge issue, or a bearing issue. The bearings may seem fine but put a load on them and they start seizing up. My first guess is a weak deck shell causing an alignment problem

@rustyedge1  let me understand ?  you have the best belt  , in the WRONG  DRIVE  PULLEY ?  inner  pulleys , increase speed  , torque and  movement start ? what is stopping you from doing this ? another vital part of my set ups is a roller stool  look around at  every stage , so you can INSURE MOVEMENT HAND OFF , TO NEXT STAGE . DO A LOT OF THAT ? VERIFY HOW THINGS OPERATE ! BTW   also enhanced the  lever trundle end to a heim joint , and added a  spring pull to end of , pto swing arm clip to frame ? enhances function and stops  buzzing , this is easy , pete

I had this years ago but the drive belt just kept coming off, didn't harm the belt.  Weld up the cracks and problem solved.
