953 nut 66,791 #5 Posted 5 hours ago Had never seen "Trailer Hopping" but one year at the "Night of Destruction" event at Ocala, FL. the trailer race evolved into that. The body came off a small pop-up camper trailer during the trailer race and one of the tow vehicles managed to get his front wheels onto the frame and took a ride for darn near half of the race. The car towing the pop-up frame overheated due to the excess load and blew a radiator (or a hose) and the driver that had hitched a ride managed to get back off and ended up winning the race. I don't know who won the ensuing fight that followed!
WHX?? 56,992 #6 Posted 3 hours ago (edited) That was at Slinger Speedway in southern WI not too far from me. Their eve of destruction was always a pilgrimage. Use to go there and watch Matt Kenseth race back when he ran for DeWalt. His home track since he was from that area. Golden Sands Speedway in central WI always had a night of destruction too. Bus racing (can you say Pullstart? sure ... I knew you could)) was always a fav too. Edited 3 hours ago by WHX??
