cjb398 36 #1 Posted June 20 I have a 417-H, but that is not important. I often find that I'd like to carry small items like pliers, wrenches, brush saws, gloves, wire, or really anything, and I end up having to hold it in a bucket or some other means while driving. Not very practical. Did Wheel Horse offer any kind of basket or compartment in any of there tractors for carrying stuff? Or does anybody have suggestions for doing this. Pictures would be great! TIA. adsm08 4,659 #2 Posted June 20 Mine has a compartment under the seat that most of that stuff would fit in. I do keep some tools in there. You could probably make a basket of some sort for the hitch.
kpinnc 18,667 #4 Posted June 20 I put a seat cover on mine that is nothing but pockets on the back. If what I need won't fit there I hitch up the rolling toolbox or my trailer. But a carry basket thing would be cool to have. Like the ones on a farm ATV.

MainelyWheelhorse 2,722 #7 Posted June 20 If I can’t carry it, the trailer gets used. The smaller stuff goes in a bag and then on the trailer.

ebinmaine 79,298 #9 Posted June 20 1. We generally use a trailer. 2. I've considered a hitch mounted basket. 3. See #1...

squonk 47,053 #11 Posted June 20 My back yard is fenced in for the dogs. My shed is back there and inside is a WH cart. It's a pain to get it out and open the gates for any small job like carrying tools for anything to do in the front yard so I have this little Toro cart that stores easy, dumps and is cute as a button! If it fits it ships!

This is Tony @Docwheelhorse at a show a couple years ago with the platform thingy mounted on his tractor hauling back an oil can score

Yeah, I have a trailer, but I'm thinking of something just to carry little hand tools mostly that doesn't use the hitch and is more or less always on the tractor and available. Sometimes I find things, too, (mostly trash) that I want to pick up while mowing.

953 nut 66,862 #22 Posted June 21 I built a rack that fits into a 2" receiver hitch primarily as a weight box for snow plowing but it doubles as a stuff mover too.

cjb398 36 #25 Posted 3 hours ago This is what I ended up doing, and I expect it will work well for the small items I sometimes carry. The basket I got at Lowes and is an over the cabinet basket in their home goods department. I straightened the hooks that would fit over a cabinet door so they rest on top of the seatback, and held the basket in place with cable mounts and Zip ties.
