C-85 804 #1 Posted yesterday at 12:56 AM I recently got a little 4hp Wheel Horse (I don't know how else to describe it, maybe an RJ) and hope to restore it, mainly so our future grandchildren nieces and nephews could ride on it someday, plus it would be great to add to the small collection. It is in very rough shape, but should be doable. One of its front wheels is ruined by rust, the rest of it has minor rust. All of it's tires have like new tread, but they are totally rotten and will need to be replaced if I can find them, the rears are 5-12 and the fronts are 4.80/4.00-8. It's not running, and I'm surprised how hard it is to get to its spark plug, with all the things simplified by Wheel Horse, it's hard to access! I'm going to try to load some pictures (I'll try, sometimes they don't work), but I seem to have trouble doing that, I guess this site doesn't like iPhone pictures, so any help for the tractor and pictures would help! I looked all over it and could find its model number, but the Kohler K91 has a clear very readable data plate. Yup, I attempted to load a picture and I don't know the rules to do it successfully, it just shows 'queued' at the bottom. These are JPG and were 5.3 mb, I don't know if this is to big or how to do it One thing I'm not is tech savvy, I'm jealous of those of you that post beautiful pictures! I have posted some pictures in the past and it worked, but have a harder time now and I'm not sure what changed or how to fix! C-85
wallfish 20,049 #2 Posted yesterday at 01:30 AM If you can email them to uremailing@yahoo.com I can post them here for you. I'm always interested in little round hoods
wallfish 20,049 #4 Posted yesterday at 04:27 AM (edited) That's a 1960 model 400 The front rims rot because they were filled with calcium from the factory to add weight to the front. Kind of surprising they got that bad because those aren't original tires. And the rears should be 6.00-12 tires. C-85 804 #5 Posted yesterday at 11:57 AM This is a tremendous help Wallfish! I know more about ABCD and 100-500 series so a round hood is kind of new to me. I hadn't thought about calcium, that probably explains the rust rot! C-
wallfish 20,049 #6 Posted yesterday at 12:09 PM (edited) And those were the original rims with only 1 hole in them. RJ -no holes, 1960- 1 hole 1961 had 2 holes. And come to think of it those generals may be the original tires too Edited the model to the correct 1960 model 400. The throttle control levers and steel clutch pedal. In 61 the controls went to push/pull and the pedal was cast. Edited yesterday at 12:11 PM by wallfish

ACman 7,728 #8 Posted yesterday at 01:12 PM @C-85 I have used Apple with no issues posting pictures especially with a paid membership . I just hit the chose files , then photo library and pick my pictures. I add in the photos into the post where I want them to show up in the post and hit submit reply . Some pictures may take longer to upload but never really an issue .
C-85 804 #9 Posted yesterday at 03:06 PM Gees SQLGTR, that must need one heck of a buffer, maybe 100,000 speed? I don't know why I'm having such a hard time posting pictures ACman, I believe my membership is paid. I have an iPhone 16 if that makes a difference. I would sure like to sort that out, I'd love to be able to easily post pictures. C-85
oliver2-44 11,534 #10 Posted yesterday at 06:42 PM @C-85 Very nice looking suburban, sheet metal looks straight. Lover the creativity of the wooden foot rest. The RJ and Suburban front rims have a longer center hole for the longer spindle on the tractor. They are getting a little hard to find, thus can be a little $$ pricey. You can use other rims with a shorter center hole and put a 3/4" collar on the inside of spindle to take up the space.

C-85 804 #12 Posted 21 hours ago On the photo's thing, I've taken pictures on my iPhone and then emailed them to myself. Then I have saved them to my Lenovo laptop's desktop and then tried to load them from there, can that be the problem? I'm not sure what is allowed for type, these were JPGs and 5.3 mb, so I don't know if these are the wrong type or too big? Thanks again for all the HELP! After that you still need to hit the little + on the pic file to add them to the editor window where you type.

Some pictures may take longer to upload but never really an issue . The iPhone’s default internal picture storage format is HEIC because it is extremely space-efficient. This site does not have a way to “decode” them from that format. There are three ways to address this 1. Change your phone’s settings to capture and store in JPEG so drag/drop from the Photos app does the job. This is what @ACman (or someone helping him) did. (google “iphone camera format setting” to learn how.) 2. Export the photos to a computer that has an application able to do the conversion. On an MacBook, for example, the Preview app can open an HEIC, let you crop it, change its size, and export it as a JPEG. From there, export back to the phone or access the forum from the computer and use drag & drop, 3. On the phone, copy one or more images from the Photos library into a folder (mine is named “Forum”) in the Files app then post the images from Files instead of from Photos. (google "iphone export to files app” to learn how) “Queued” means that the photo is very large and is taking a while to upload. This happens because the file is very large, you have a slow internet connection, or the Forum site being busy (or a combo of these). By the way, 5.3mb is quite a large image. If you use Method #3 (I highly recommend learning to do this), you can open the image stored in Files on your phone using Preview and modify it for size and other attributes. Unless you need members to zoom in on your image to see extremely fine detail, re-sizing your image to around 700 pixels wide or 700 pixels high at 72 pixels per inch resolution (and scaling proportionally) is plenty. These will usually be less than 1mb JPEG. (google “using iphone preview app” to learn how to take advantage of this incredible app!)
