FLtractor 149 #1 Posted 19 hours ago Afternoon, I cannot find any suitable mounting locations for this facet fuel pump on my 856. Any recommendations? Thought about coil boil, open side hole on frame near the exposed pulleys but awfully close. Thought zip tie and or hose clamp to front axel and extend ground to frame while running positive fuel pump wire to coil.
oliver2-44 11,332 #2 Posted 18 hours ago I suggest you look for a mounting place close to the bottom of the tank. all those electric (and old mechanical ones) were good at pushing gas, not sucking a long distance from tank.

Oh wow I didn’t think it could be mounted that far from carb and that high up.. I was recommended before to mount it low on tractor frame somewhere beneath carb
oliver2-44 11,332 #4 Posted 18 hours ago Low is good, but I've always heard closer to tank, and push not suck. Interested to see what others say. 1
kpinnc 17,575 #5 Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Get you a couple brass elbows and you can mount it up front. I do suggest you use the included filter that comes with the pump. I made a small L shaped tab and used one oil pan bolt to secure mine on the Bronco. Edited 18 hours ago by kpinnc 3
Mike'sHorseBarn 3,459 #6 Posted 18 hours ago Took a screenshot from a YouTube video for you to look at @VinsRJ put his pump under the tank on his 857 project. That would be a much better spot.
peter lena 9,811 #7 Posted 17 hours ago @FLtractor have my carbole electric / low pressure pump , 2 - 3.5 psi ,mounted similar to @kpinnc up front , also have a fuel filter and check valve there , clear fuel line , so I can see standing fuel up to carb , also have a filter at tank flow start , never had an issue with fuel delivery . use stabil in all my fuels , add an ounce or 2 to every tank top off , instant starts , no debris in filters . replaced fuel lines , before adding sta bil , no debris at all since , its a good swap , pete

Wanted to ask him exactly how he screwed the fuel pump up into the tank straps or pan the tank sits in.. watched the video but with the spacing of the fuel pump mounting holes and the fuel tank pan … it doesn’t quite make sense where it was screwed up into Edited 12 hours ago by FLtractor

You just used one fuel pump bolt to hold it in place? What size brass fitting are they?

Fittings are 1/4 barbed elbow and I think a 3/8 NPT street elbow.
Stan50 106 #16 Posted 7 hours ago @kpinnc That block off plate - did you use regular fuel pump gasket with that plate? I fabricated similar block off plate, they layin on the shelf with CarBole fuel pump, waiting for mechanical pump failure

But a regular fuel pump gasket will work just fine.
Retired Wrencher 6,532 #18 Posted 2 hours ago (edited) FLtractor: The first is mounting second is wirier with fuse. This is on the 856. Works fine so far two years now. Edited 2 hours ago by Retired Wrencher

So you used this hole here .. and you drilled a second hole into the support frame for other fuel pump bolt hole? went with #. 60245 given yours is on the other side of most I’ve seen.. do you have a picture of how you ran your fuel line from tank to fuel pump to carb? Retired Wrencher 6,532 #22 Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I used one bolt to the frame and second to the pump with steel with pre drilled holes in it. I do not remember the name of the steel, it has multiple holes. I can take a picture of it today. That’s how I adapted it. Can paint it to blend it in with the rest of the car or just leave it. It’s a short piece anyway I’d say maybe about an inch and a half. Edited 2 hours ago by Retired Wrencher
