520 Owners with Foot Pedal

Recommended Posts

Lost Pup

Acquired this 520. Looked clean and cared for. Owners brother did not know much about it.

Starts quick and runs well. Transmission is strong.
First time for me with the foot control and dang it’s seems to far away. I am 5’ 10”.  I think the foot lever needs adjustment.

Are others with the foot control say the main pedal is 90 degrees or less to the floorboard or what ?
This is my pedal at the current neutral position in the pic.

My ankle got rather hot  quickly from the vented cover.

Thoughts and Suggestions are Welcome.

Under the floor board there should be a Heim joint. You can unscrew the joint making the rod longer and that should bring the pedal closer to you.

It does look like yours is to far forward.

Yes, as WHX?? said, adjust it so you get full reverse with the pedal just almost but not quite touching the floor board. That will get you full reverse speed with the main forward pedal as far back as it can be.

@Lost Pup agree with others on possible improvements , also  like  super lube, hydraulic oil  on any related movement / swing point , that heim is a  perfect  transition  connection , also  first photo  opportunity  ? staring right at you ? PTO  lever end to  outer swing arm , clip, hole ?  look at  lower frame mount  , hitch pin  , clip hole ? like a light  tension  extension spring , curved , hook  ends , connect the 2 ,  circular  spring  rings ? , lubricate , both  mount  points , takes the buzz  out of the  belt drive set up  ., penetrating oil  spray down , for the paint , will  help bring it  right back , make a deflector for the , hot ankle  issue , that area  , is known for  cooked wiring  issues , clean condition of unit  , says a lot  , pete
