tractorhogg 623 #1 Posted Monday at 11:30 PM Found a great deal on a nice D-200 and since my D-160's kohler single bit the dust. The two bolts that secure the steering column to the support bracket and are loose. I tried to get in there to tighten them, but my ratchet doesn't want to to turn the bolt enough to "catch" or the bolts maybe too short, but needless to say there's very little room. A long handle 1/4" or 3/8" drive ratchet might help. I wish I could get a air or battery powered ratchet on the bolts, not sure if there's room. I may have to remove the mid mount lift bracket to get in there, any other hints or ideas, does anyone know the size/length of the bolts?
Easton Rich 1,000 #2 Posted yesterday at 01:07 AM This steering setup is like the 953/1054 I believe. @953 nut might be able to help you out more as he seems to be well versed in these.

Can the size/ length be figured out on the motor less D series in the background? 1

I may try to remove the mid mount lift linkage, that way I can get to it and easily remove or attempt to tighten the bolts, It is possible someone used bolts to short when they restored it years ago. tractorhogg 623 #7 Posted 7 hours ago I was able to get my hand/fingers and ratchet up above the mid lift and tighten the two bolts, all is well now. On a side note I got my front dozer blade cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted
