Thought what good is it with a stupid metric crescent wrench head in our line of work.

Supposed to be used for torqueing flare nuts for proper install of aforementioned ACs.

The original Metric / SAE Fitzall wrench!! :ROTF:

Along the way, some of our equipment was hosed with JIC hoses and nuts. One issue was leaking due form over tightening hose ends on the flares.

Had to have a class on how not to gorilla tighten JIC fittings. After that a lot of problems went away.

I have an inline figial digial head and it works pretty good, I have found it requires a certain touch.

Well made point!

I got a lesson from a hydraulics guy. His advice was to go “firm” and then, with the pump running, tighten to just past where the leaking stops! So that’s how I did it and, so far, it’s worked.

Yep and I did use it for that on the FEL.

Book said only 20 ft lbs on 3/8". Didn’t seem like much but book also said #1 leak JIC is over tighten.

Watching Dan assemble a tractor and he used a torque wrench on every thing. He says most guys have a bad habit of over tightening everything. Guilty as charged.

Forgot to mention Yellow Jacket is a Ritchie Engineering brand for their HVAC products. So don't get a big head...

If Uncle Jim said "Yellow Jacket Torque Wrench " most everybody would think he was using it on some bees and it might be time for an intervention!

My wrist and elbow joints are getting so bad they are set at 20 Ft.LBS! :confusion-seeingstars:

I can tighten a head bolt using my wrists as a guide….when the wrist pops, it’s tight enough. The knees and ankles I use for a load calculator. When they pop, it’s too late. :eusa-naughty:
