hand / thumb fix

Recommended Posts

dropped my wife off at the constitution  joint center , this morning , for a thumb bone issue , been to same center  for  hip , back  work . the work is very thorough , with  back up  home therapy  assistance , my overall  opinion of this is very good , and most important is ACTUALLY GOING  TO GET IT FIXED , the fear  is very evident  to  someone that  refuses to get help , that also  grows in the wrong way , always having a reason NOT  TO GET IT  FIXED . you can sense the fear  , and excuses .  on the way back , stopped at walmart  , just a regular day . pete

Common thumb issue. Arthritis in the CMC joint at the base of the thumb. I have it in my left thumb. Hurts like crazy when it flares up. They remove the trapezium bone and use part of a tendon rolled up in it's place. I've been hesitant to get it looked at as I've been told after surgery your in a cast for almost 6 months :eusa-think:

wifes . CMC  joint  , went very well , 2 days  after  she  removed the  , difficult to use  arm sling  , basically you are recovering   arm muscle memory that was stopped with novacane  usage . fingers  look  close to normal / color / function  , hand will stay wrapped up  another week or more , then  dr removal , I have been filling in  for anything  that needs help . that joint center  has been a  lifesaver for us .  the initial , informational  class , given to upcoming  patients , is very thorough , questions / answers , had my back  / hip  done here , thats  all they do ,  also an  eye center  close by  , been there too ,  lazer  work is commonality  today . getting past the fear / terror  phase is not even an issue ,  you  own  personal involvement  to  finish it  , is vital .  i,m bionic  pete

@Beap52  my wife was an office manager , at a nursing home , always interested  in correction ,  todays , laser work , and related  is something to take advantage of  , having crossed over  long ago , I  can sense  fear  / any excuse not to get it fixed , my knees were done 18 years ago , 6 months apart , picked the dr with the best reputation ,  3 days in hospital , then 10 days in a nursing home , to practice movement walking , almost  funny today , just about everything is  same day , big difference is the  therapists  that come to see you daily , get you involved , loads of  information , I can sense fear  almost an aura  , in every excuse NOT  TO GET IT DONE . not me , want to keep going , laser   surgery  is technician  guided every step of the way . my / our experience , pete / terry
