Hoya lifts are awesome. I got one from a lady in the neighborhood that was for her son but they never used it. Works great. Sad part is they have thrown out about a dozen of them here at the hospital. Mostly electric, some manual lift. Breaks my heart 😢

Used this crane last spring to lift and place six 350 pound blocks of concrete for a dock anchor.  Planning on the same job again this spring on another dock.  Worked perfectly and no strain on my back. Then mounted in my trailer to move a recliner I purchased.  It is worth every penny of the $200 it cost at HD.

Well I used my setup for it's intended purpose today, and it worked like a champ. K321 now has a new oil pan gasket and I lifted nothing. This thing is awesome!

I am 80 and feel your pain about lifting, We pull Garden Tractors and always working to improve our engines, so I built a 1/2 size engine hoist to do the lifting re helps the old back

Too late for a test run tonight, but all back together. 

 

This lift has helped so much. I never knew how bad I needed this! It lowered the engine gently down and all I had to do was nudge one way or the other until the engine settled in place. Neither the lift nor myself ever broke a sweat! 

 

Every once in a while, I fab up something that works!  All too often a given project goes back to the scrap pile.

Thank you sir. It is definitely a keeper. Has a few scratches and spots that need a touch up, but definitely one of my favorites. 

 

The front weights are about 4 feet away from it. I'll stick them back on when I finish it up. I thought it was all done but the electric clutch wobbles really bad and when driving it around today it started spitting oil from around the fuel pump. So this weekend it's getting an electric pump. The clutch can wait...

My garage was put up back in the 1920's so there is only about 7' to the bottom of the 2X6 rafter. Knowing that it's bad to over  work a back I needed a lifting point for a host/chain fall, So I went with 10' of un-a-strut and there 600# cap. trolleys, welded 2X3X6 " angle iron on top the the Un-a-strut to line up with the sides of each of the rafters, Drilled a 1/2" hole in each end of the angle iron and bolted them to the rafters. hooked my com a long to the trolley and now I can lift what ever I want and move it where ever I want along the 10' of rail. Worked so well that I did the same with a shorter run from the center of the garage to go over my  work bench. Then I got a hoyer 400#  patient  lift , replace the casters with some bigger ones so I can use it in the drive way . spent about $50.00 on the Unistrut and trolley, $100.00 on the hoyer lift .
