PTO stopper issues with onan

im trying to get the pto stopper on my onan but i can seem to get it to clear the exhaust, i had to buy a different one because i lost the original. the problem im having is the new stopper has a little shoe on it and i cant rotate the bracket as it hits the exhaust

could i possibly get away with grinding down the little plate? or is it just possibly the wrong one entirely? the part numbers are the same and i cant seem to find anything online about an "onan specific" stopper

I can't answer your questions but someone might if they had the model of the tractor, the engine description and a list of alterations from stock.

its a c120 special with an onan p218 on it, im running the electric clutch. i have my snow blower mounted to it and the exhaust flipped to vent exhaust forward but it doesn't really change the bracket being in the way im gonna take a good video and post a link in a little while

This one on a 12 Kohler. If it's locking up the clutch I would grind the weld down and remove it.

The. bracket’s jobs are to support the wiring and prevent the electromagnetic coil from spinning on the engine shaft. 

I agree with @Lee1977, modify as needed.
