kpinnc 16,981 #1 Posted February 1 Holee molee Batman we got a bleeping buch of snow! I haven't seen this much since 1999, when we got over 20 inches. We are now at 10 to 12 inches, and it's still snowing! We usually get wet heavy snow but this stuff is powder. I've never seen that here in NC before. And the first day we are supposed to get above freezing is Tuesday. Even then only about 40 degrees. kpinnc 16,981 #2 Posted February 1 Well it finally stopped around 1:30AM. I decided to measure a few spots and it fluctuates between 10 and 13 inches. For central North Carolina, that is huge. No power loss.. knock knock Soft two inches here. (soft meaning scant 2 and light fluffy snow) @kpinnc I am not familiar with Richfield sir. you must be west of me? I could ask the webs. The square is about the only web I use. This may be here a hot minute. More to possibly come this following weekend. Stores are still cherry picked with these dips here. I am kinda boy scouty and most Americans have more than enough food. The hoarding of it here I do not prescribe to. We (Raleigh) I am outside the city were in a strange radar bubble. Goin through it like s#%t through a tin goose but saws & myself need exercise too. Get dem horses out and blow some carbon out KP! It still won't get above freezing here for more than a few hours at a time until next week, and won't really be back into heat-pump friendly weather until probably the end of the month. I have about 2 days worth of wood left, and no other heaters. squonk 45,338 #9 Posted February 1 We needed to call some contractors into work on Wednesday for an emergency as one of the boiler rooms was filling up with water. The main drain out of the hospital needed to be jetted right away. They got there in minutes. They are putting up a new building a few blocks away. They got there so fast because their job is almost at a standstill. They said 3 weeks a go the frost was 2" deep. Now it's 2 feet deep! 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Id watch There are 3 or 4 changes of wet clothes and coats strategically placed in my son's room to dry. Luckily his mother had already got him a couple coats so those change out easily. Gloves are where we've come up short. So the rule is: when your hands no longer hurt it's time to come inside and warm up! One odd thing about this dry fluffy snow- it melts quick! While out I tried to push back a few piles but the blade just flipped down and skipped up over the piles. Hard as concrete. This one wasn't polite, some of that " Northern Snow " bowed around, refused to melt, some still hanging around in shaded areas. Don't know for sure how much we got , Kannapolis clamed 10" , China Grove clamed 14". Behind my house in the drive way was 13" to 16" that's on the low side of the house. Tired old 12 Kohler on the Raider didn't like that deep snow.
