Hmmm. is the cam the source of the problem or is it the victim here??

Did you break the connecting rod?? I ask because I bought two C81's years ago. One ran but was tired; the other broke the connecting rod, snapped the cam in two and blew out the back cam mount. And ventilated the block bigtime. I did save the head, flywheel, tins, oil pan , points & coil though...

Hi all @ri702bill , rebuilt that k181 in spring of 2018, put it together with a bunch of parts, so could be it was cracked when installed, it all ways had a tic, but not bad enough to pull apart,  the dreaded kohler tic.  Anyway got to dig up another cam.

Yah she's a humdinger, she has to be right in the middle everything. :USA:

Found the camshaft, cleaned it up, should work.  Will clean up the block, new gaskets,  couple seals, I already rebuilt the fuel pump, and carburetor. Had to make bushing NLA, come out great, new shaft and made some foam gaskets out of a pre air filter .

WHX??

What is the blue stuff on the fuel pump?

Nice job on the bushing maybe we can make them now @Achto

Always thought a o-ring on the shaft wouldn't hurt.

Shouldn't be too difficult.

:thumbs2:

Thought maybe it was a bluish Permatex sealer I tried once that did't work.

We was just talkin about glassing pumps.

Good trick ... gonna  those pics for my fuel pump instructional.

I always misted them with a rattle can like a head but the mist can go where you don't want it to.

Yep been there done that ...  guy at plow day said he checked his oil ... bull roar. Nothin but sludge in the pan.  Got extremely lucky and only busted the cam. Never even bent the cam axle.

Can't believe it ran with only a tic Rider.
