ebinmaine 75,531 #26 Posted 5 hours ago Back when I moved in to this house we had a particularly big winter. I signed on the house during a snow event... Four days later.. moved in. It snowed all 4 days. My parents came up to help move stuff. That was just before March 1st. All of that month it snowed... A LOT. A few weeks later my parents wanted to come up for a visit. My mom. Lovely woman.... and a standard issue bull headed Yankee. I told her to call me from the nearest village because there was no phone coverage within 6 or 7 miles of here. I'd go out and wait by the road so they could find me.... She got... a little irritated... "I was just there a few weeks ago... you dont think I can find your house??" I said "Mom, we got SNOW here." When the parents showed up she admitted there was a VERY limited chance they'd have found the house. Things had changed. Our roadside snowbanks were well over 8 feet tall. Taller than the minivan they were in! That year from the last week of February to the second week of April we got over 7 feet of snow. I had nothing but a shovel. A good shovel.
