Joe BenHayon 61 #1 Posted Sunday at 05:34 PM Being that I live on the Western side of the Continental Divide, and getting a good plow assembly shipped here would probably double my cost, I am looking to build my own frame and will adapt an atv plow to that. I located a axle mount bracket on Ebay, so I have a good attachment. I'm just looking for a drawing or print of the frame. Hoping somebody here can draw it up for me, or point me to a factory print. Thanks, Joe
ebinmaine 75,176 #2 Posted Sunday at 06:39 PM Joe I'm no artist or anything close it but we do have a bare plow frame setting in the barn for easy access. I'd be happy to get some pics and measurements for you later today.
ri702bill 10,401 #3 Posted Sunday at 07:58 PM (edited) Got the axle bracket??? There are two styles; one for short frame tractors and one for later long frame tractors like your 312. Be sure you get the correct one. The frame is one thing; if the ATV plow does not angle, there are numerous parts needed to do so. And the trip feature - VERY important if you encounter a fixed solid object while plowing... Is there a specific "other" brand of garden tractor in plentiful supply out in Colorado? Perhaps you could buy / barter one that has those features and adapt the frame?? Just my ... Edited Sunday at 08:52 PM by ri702bill

There is one on eBay sold by Wheel Horse Parts and More, pn: 104659, that is apparently the right one. I have seen the frame extension kit, but I figure if I have the overall length, I can build/modify another brand to work. As for the plow, I found a JD one that has the trip feature and is steerable. So once I have dimensions, I can modify as needed
Joe BenHayon 61 #7 Posted Sunday at 09:40 PM Thanks ebinmaine! On the frame, is that regular C-channel or fabricated from flat plate?

Note the section that has plate attached to the inside with the 3/4" rod through it. That's the part that attaches to the rear bracket. FYI. If you have the skills to weld up a whole frame, you could probably make a rear bracket too. Unrelated: "C" is for cookie. I learned that from Cookie Monster years ago.

8ntruck 8,270 #10 Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM I'd guess they were roll formed.

peter lena 9,528 #12 Posted 22 hours ago @Joe BenHayon would also be a good time to plan some upgrading for functional detailing , that front of frame steering quadrant , slide pin / function runs the whole show , also the , also the swing lever frame mount point , good spot for a shoulder bolt and elastic lock nut , to hold washered / lubricated swing area . would also build that up on milk crates up off the floor , suspended like on the tractor , roller stool heim joints on movement rods . lets you dial in entire movement function , just a suggestion , pete
Lee1977 7,435 #13 Posted 8 hours ago EB is the 65" from the blade pivot or the blade mount? It's a little unclear where you measured from. There is a lighter weight U channel 2" x !" with !/8" on all three sides. Still heaver then the folded plate channel.

Right over the top of the pivot bolt.
