They don't seem like they would be terrible to make, but I would like to make one as original as possible. I may be missing some intricacies though that make it harder to make than I imagine.I've never seen one in person before. I can't bring myself to pay $100+ for a rotten piece of plywood stuck on a rusty piece of steel with a few holes in it! Pictures borrowed from Google.
