Are you ready for snow?

 

For the most part, just have to switch tractors around in the barn so the snow equipment is in the front of the others. All we've got is a dusting right now.  Temps back in the 40's for the rest of the week with some rain.  Mowed the lawn for the last time, Saturday.  Never think too much about snow until January.  At least that's the way it's been for many, many years.

@rjg854 do both those machines have Wheel Horse weights🏋front and back? Man I would like to find a set I could afford .

  As far as i am concerned if the are painted red they are Wheel horse weights ......  weights are weights....

If I remember right we have wheel weights that are painted red or black or off-white or military green.

 

IHC or JD yellow is a no-go and requires recoloration.

I notice you're running the snowblower on a 16 Auto with electric PTO clutch. I have the same tractor (in a few pieces at the moment).

My question is, do you have any concerns/problems running the blower with the electric PTO clutch?

This is probably the 6th year I've used the 16 Auto for blower duties, and my driveway is 2/10ths of a mile long and the only problem I've had is, I wanted to put a new belt on. Just because the old one was looking worn. It still hangs on the wall in case I might need it. No concerns what so ever. I like to idle the tractor down before engaging the blower tho, then idle it back up depending on conditions.

Just kidding of course. I saw a C160 8 speed just 4.5 hours drive from me this week. If Christmas wasn't so close with a house full of kids- I'd be taking a trip!

She went to the big show with me in 2008. Left me there all weekend and went to Hershey with the kiddos.

Last time I went to Hershey my children coaxed me onto a ride before I realized how it worked.

Strapped into a claustrophobic cabin on the end of an arm. Arm starts rotating horizontally and the cabin swings out a bit. Not too bad, I think. Then the arm support lifts so the arm is rotating vertically and the cabin is upside down at the top of the circle. Closest I’ve ever come to upchucking on a ride.

520HC is ready for plow duty.

You can see the rear end peaking out behind it, that is the 416H project for this winter.

 

This little walk behind is also on standby.

 

Big tractor and blower are also ready but won't fit in the heated shop this year.

It is in the big tent garage out back where it normally lives all summer.

I ran a big extension cord out to it for the block heater.

This is the first time the tractor has been in the cold in the winter, hopefully it will start if required.

 

We have a little dusting of snow now that actually started on Sunday and adds a bit each day.

Not enough to worry about plowing yet, hopefully it will melt in the next couple of days.

Current plan for snow (now that the 854 and blade are ready) is to keep the wood box stocked.
