Reproduction Steel Dash Plates

Recommended Posts

Easton Rich

I would like to know if there would be any interest in reproduction steel dash plates. I will make them if you guys show interest. These are the styles I could do, if you wanted a different style just comment what you want. Thanks.

How about a steel version for the GT-14 :handgestures-thumbupright: The plastic ones don't seem to last. Maybe I could get @Vinylguy to make a decal for it? :banana-rock:

Terry already makes them, has two types to choose from.

I’ll need to get a hold of one, but I’ll definitely see what I can do!

I've been thinking about one of these myself- to go behind the plastic one in my 701.

Don't send an old plastic plate for measurements, they shrink. The steel plate from a 953 / 1054 is the same size as a GT-14.

I guess I could lend him one if he hasn't got one to go by, let me know.  I could use a new dash plate for my GT-14 anyway. @Easton Rich, PM your address if you need to borrow a 953 / 1054 plate as a reference piece.

If you could make one for a 1257 I’d be interested too.

The 1257 dash would be like the 2nd pictured, but with no square hole for lights correct?

What process do you have to make them?

I have a friend who owns a machine shop with a laser. Then Ill use his press for the bends to make them exact. I’ll have him make me 10 of each to see what the demand for them is. I know it’s not a super cool process but its efficient.

Any idea what the first plate (round hood) in your pic might cost?
