953 nut 61,288 #1 Posted Monday at 10:41 AM National Silent Movie Day takes place on September 29 each year. National Silent Movie Day is a day to celebrate and enjoy silent movies. But, what is a silent movie? A silent movie is a film with no accompanying, synchronized, recorded spoken dialogue. Watching a movie combining motion pictures with recorded sound seems obvious, but movies did not have any sound at first. It was mainly because of the technical challenges involved. Combining motion pictures with recorded sound is nearly as old as the motion picture itself. 1 1 5

Read a good history of stunt performers in the early days of motion pictures and learn that the toll in serious injuries and deaths was quite high. 1

Pullstart 67,544 #6 Posted Tuesday at 11:02 AM Yesterday I published this video before this thread was created, to drop this morning. I was looking for a Charlie Chaplin silent film type piano music. Either way, I thought it was quite coincidental! 2
