kpinnc 15,797 #1 Posted September 18 Weather has been great here for a couple weeks now. Clear blue/ 52 and mid 70s to low 80s for the high, mid 50s at night. How I wish it was like this year round! Anyway, I've noticed a few critters gearing up for the long nap. We have both white and green tree frogs here, and a bunch of them. One of my fence caps popped off, and someone decided to make it home. I guess I can wait until spring to fix it... JoeM 8,961 #6 Posted September 18 the turkey buzzards are gathering in large groups (20 plus) My grandsons science teacher had the kids do a buzzard watch last year. He ask the kids to count the birds they see in the evening before the roost and report the numbers daily. Some do stay the winter but most migrate south. The large grouping is a preempt to the pattern. Though October into November the numbers will decline significantly. And winter will be official. My personal favorite. I automatically assume "anti-blacksnake" mode in the spring.
