I travel that road on my way to Spike Camp and there is no OSHA there! I like that out building Kev. Screw the pool crap tho I could get 10 in there plus the loft for the hood collection! Why on earth did you not pitch the roof to the back? Would have no runoff to the pool area. No ice build ups no drip lines. No doors freezing up. 3

Why on earth did you not pitch the roof to the back? Would have no runoff to the pool area. No ice build ups no drip lines. No doors freezing up. I built it with the “backwards” roof in mind for a couple reasons. First, south facing pane means I can build me a massive solar heat collector for the pool plumbing. Second, I have room for a lean to off the back Third, I have no need for winter access, so frozen doors is not an issue. Additionally, the pool is sloped like a trough between the pool shed and the pool itself. Water runs to the center of the two, then sideways away from the diving board.
Pullhosen’s Pony Express 95 #116 Posted 22 hours ago Overkill is the story here. Surprise! A double top plate allows for 24” center spacing on the roof rafters. I chose double plate and 16” centers. My span allowed 2x6s to be used. I chose 2x8s.
Handy Don 14,450 #117 Posted 18 hours ago Last roof construction I had a say in, we used trusses on 24’s with double top plates. Deliverer hoisted them with a truck boom (2-story building) and a crew of two positioned and secured. 22 trusses in three and a half hours. Later added hurricane hold-down clips and did final alignment while sheathing.

WHX?? 52,447 #120 Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Double top plate is pretty standard. So isn't 24 OC for our snow loading. I woulda went with 19 & a diamond. You ain't worried about that sheeting being so closed to the concrete rotting out?? Edited 10 hours ago by WHX?? speeling

It’s 3/4” off the concrete and I plan to flash it the best I can. I’m checking the budget now on vinyl vs steel siding. I think I’ve got about $2k into the structure now, maybe $2,500. I was quoted $3,100 for steel to finish it!
WHX?? 52,447 #122 Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Seems a little high on the steel. We got Amish folk here that supply steel woulda been less than 1k. That woulda been my choice. Steel wainscot?? Tell ya what would look good is fake stonework. Edited 8 hours ago by WHX??
