It was actually quite slippery when dry! I just wanted to shed water and I had this. It’s probably not ideal but it does currently work. 2
rjg854 12,963 #127 Posted October 10, 2025 As long as it's doing what you want it to do, that's the important thing. Are planning on shingles? I don't see why you couldn't leave it for that purpose too.

Pullstart 69,698 #131 Posted October 11, 2025 The construction is pretty much wrapped up. Time for making it weather proof! 3
Pullstart 69,698 #132 Posted April 19 Yep, I’m still grinding away on this. I have 34 or so days until Jada’s graduation party. Most every piece needs to be cut to length and trimmed somehow to fit. It’s time consuming, so I am using whatever dry weather I have to get it done. 5

Pullstart 69,698 #137 Posted April 20 There’s lots of work today to get 70 square foot of steel mounted up! Back window and door openings are cut out, window is in and I need to trim and seal it up. Back sliding door track is installed and trimmed as well. 8

I can see I shoulda stuck around a few more days and showed how to do it! I gave the steel supplier my building measurements, they gave me a stack of steel. Most of it is all long, I think I have used 3 pieces at length.
Pullstart 69,698 #141 Posted April 21 I screwed up a couple pieces. Or they aren’t screwed up. I had to order a couple more pieces, but can still work on the front. 3
Pullstart 69,698 #142 Posted 3 hours ago I have the door frames built and hung. I am brainstorming my method of door closure. If possible, I’d like to prevent any more holes in the concrete. However, I have no other access to latch from the inside. Then, I’ll install bottom trim and the sheet steel. 1
Pullstart 69,698 #143 Posted 3 hours ago I have four of these style latches coming. There wasn’t anything locally that I could find. My thoughts are to make a keyhole slot in the angle bracket (or use a chunk of unistrut with a slotted hole) and stick another roll pin through the end of the rod. Push in, quarter turn. Low enough to hold the door bottoms closed and possibly another latch to hold it open as well. There are so many methods of keepers, rollers, etc. it’s hard to say the right or wrong way to hold a rolling door open!
