madjack 0 #1 Posted August 21 Looking for the part number for the mower deck that fits a 1970 GT14, the deck I have does not have a number on it. I know that the spindles are the old stile and the belt tensioner is on right side behind front wheel. Would be interested in a newer deck if it would work. Thank you and have a blessed day. ri702bill 10,074 #2 Posted August 21 The Implement Interchange Chart shows only one deck - 5-0481 that fits... gets worse - it is NLA. Unless someone can say otherwise, you have an orphan.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,746 #3 Posted August 21 This is the deck sold in 1970 for the GT-14. Click on the fuzzy picture. If you changed to the front idler assembly a newer more common deck could be used. Gt-14 decks 1969 - 5-1482 1970 - 5-0481 1971 - 5-1200 1972 - 5-1201 1973 - 5-1202 In 1971 a listed alternative 15-48SC03 (1990-1992) up to deck model 78361 (1998-2016) could be used with the 8-5551 front hitch. If you change to a front idler I think any 48" deck that fits the 300, 400 and 500 series will fit and if you go that far make sure spindles use a mower blade with a 3/4" round center hole. Far easier to get replacement blades.
madjack 0 #4 Posted August 21 Thank you, I’m new to this post, just found the chat room. I just picked up this GT14 and I’m planning on a complete rebuild. Any idea were I could get a parts breakdown for both the tractor and mower, the tractor even has the 3 point hitch on it. Thank you again.
madjack 0 #5 Posted August 21 Thanks guys for the help, when I met my wife her dad just became a Wheel Horse dealer and within a year he was one of the biggest dealer in the US. I was in the Air Force and not around them long enough to remember the different part numbers.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,746 #6 Posted August 21 Here is what we have for the 1970 GT-14 but does not include an operator manual. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=1-7451&quick=1&type=downloads_file Hope this 1969 operator manual will work
mrc 1,000 #7 Posted August 22 hi madjack, i have never owned a GT14. however, i do own a bronco 14. the bronco is pre 1973. therefore it used the old style attaching system and tensioner. i upgraded my bronco with front and mid tach-a-matic system. with the tach-a-matic system you can use any attachment or deck from 1973-2007. i do not know if you can add tach-a-matic to your gt14. perhaps others will chime in. regards mike
oliver2-44 10,978 #8 Posted August 22 That GT 14 frame is wider than all the models that is the attach a matic. However you can take the mid mount attach a matic brackets and put them on the inside of the frame and they will work. There are some threads on here of how to mount the mule drive to make it work. Cut to fit, paint to match.
gt14rider 968 #9 Posted August 23 You can make a mount, it is offset 1" to the right. the midmount can be moved to the inside of the frame, like @oliver2-44 stated above.
