Tonight's progress:

New air cleaner - pretty bad...

oil change - only 1 qt came out and it was VERY black... :(

80/90 on its way from the jungle.

Greased fittings.

This one may just stay in its work clothes... :eusa-think:

That style rear fender looks great on a black hood. I've been searching for one for a long time to do my own black hood build.

Hopefully it was enough oil to keep it slickery in there!

This one came off a 520 KP. It  fits perfect and they shouldn't be too hard to find. 3 /400 ones should be the same.

That isn't the same fender. I have several classic series fenders.

I'm talking about the last metal C series fender like the first pic.

I like this one better than the later model metal ones... it is far stronger and has flat top... built in shelf when working on it!!!

here's my C-105 with a more modern version vs the C-125:

Me too. Looks way better than the classic fenders on a black hood. Personal preference of course but I think it "matches" the overall look better on a black hood.

wow -- that is really handsome - - one of nicest i have seen of any model !!!!!!! I always admired the beige rims against the Red with Blackhoods - i have one C175 with the beige rims but the other I painted rims black and looks "nasty" good !!

BTW... @Pullstart has all of your belt guards that you loaned me at plow day this year... only used one on Pullstart's masterpiece that I returned to him... don't let him do anything "un-natural" to them... :scared-eek:

I do too, but they are all the older ones that flip up (older C series and Bronco/Charger/Raider style).  The fender I want is cut out like a 300 series under the seat. They are from the C-1x1 models with the gas tank under the seat.

@SylvanLakeWH  that trans fluid , just got back in from cutting  , have a regular  check over  ,  check trans oil , for condition  , level , top up tank  , add  an ounce of  , STABIL  , to full tank , check  engine oil , all good . simple as it sounds .  that  look around  has helped me spot  something starting  , or  off the norm . anything that  is off that  basic , stage . is noted and addressed . that  led me to pto engagement  outer  swivel  clip , swing arm , buzzing ?  added a spring  from that to  the , frame mounted , hitch pin clip , the tension was just enough to silence the , buzzing / rattling,  looking at 2 tom turkeys  right now , just  came out of the field . in back .  with the hot dry we had , this fall , should look like a snow storm , at  leaf drop , start . pete

Today's progress:

1. Finished the front hitch. Worked out perfect.

2. First coat of penetrol on the hood and fender pan... I'm going to keep it in its work clothes...

3. @WHX?? i took your advice and cut out the WH logo from the old seat... location pending...

All for now.

How much of a shin buster will that front hitch be?

Mabe one needs to whack each shin a couple three times before remembering to walk by with adequate  clearance? :hide:

I just wipe it on rather liberally with a clean rag and leave it to soak into the paint. I'll do another lighter coat today or tomorrow.

@SylvanLakeWH  did you clean out and re grease those MULE DRIVE BEARINGS ?  also 5 th picture down , notice the  pto swing lever arm , spring clip ,corner outer  circle ?  then look at frame hitch pin clip , with large end hole facing forward ?  want to stop related set up buzzing ?  use a  light / medium grade  extension spring and connect the 2 , once trying that , there was immediate quiet , now have that set up on my 3  horses . always using any mod  , to be  shared with the others , not exact , commonality of set up  has given me numerous elimination of problem  ideas . oh yeah , those mule drive bearings 6203 ( 3/4 )  have wide grease shields , what could you possibly do ?  EVERY  RELATED  DECK AND DRIVE SET UP ,  has the , you can't do that , lucas green grease in it , polyurea rated , no spin up issues at all , imagine no screaming clutch , lever set up also detailed , all 3 units share  all the mods , with zero failure  , years usage . LOVE A REPEDITIVE PROBLEM , kill it . pete
