Did y’all miss me? My latest bumps and bruises is a doozie!

Recommended Posts

Pullstart

I was in a rush.  I was negligent.  I kind of wondered if this was how I’d die, and how long would it take my family to find me.  I was pulling a disc and lawn roller through ruts and heavy grass out in my food plot.  I got stuck.  I tried to dismount while the tires were in motion.  The tractor grabbed and I fell back, landing on the disc.  It was pulling me, I was waiting to be consumed and spit out.  Finally the tractor got hung up again, and I was able to get myself away from the danger.

Tractors don’t care about your feelings.  They don’t care if you’re a good or a bad person.  Remember that.

I’m sore, and my hand hurts a ton.  I super glued the gash and will glove up for the day for sure.

"Cleanup in Aisle 5"!!! :confusion-seeingstars:

Keep this up and you will probably end up with your very own Bumps & Bruises catagory. "Kevin's Korner" I'd call it.....

Ya got lucky - this time. Have you shown this to your wife yet??? They have a way of showing genuine "compassion" somrtimes... sometimes not so genuine!

She is actually on a road trip for work, with customers, suppliers, etc.  I figured I’ll see how awesome it feels later when we talk on the phone :eusa-doh:

I hope you cleaned it out well.   Lots of alcohol.   Don't want to risk infection.

OUCH! Glad you're OK as that could've ended up being much worse.

Kevin, I'm being very serious now. Please stop doing dumb stuff. It's going to catch up with you one day and we don't want to see those pictures when it does.

Kevin if ya wanna get serious about the food plot, put that ford tractor in your driveway together and do it. You're chances of getting hurt that way are only slightly less :teasing-poke:

I should have been more specific,  lots of isopropyl alcohol in the cut to clean it. 😄

Seriously... a disc?!?!? :scared-eek:

Could've been sliced into Kevin fries...

Glad you're ok.

You get weekly tetanus shots still correct? If not, get one.

And regarding alcohol, look at the Kohler clock on your wall... I know it says it's 5:00 pm... :occasion-xmas:

You're still young enough to heal quick. Hopefully this is another life lesson. Not sure how many of them you get in a lifetime.  :teasing-poke:

Excellent  reminder of how quickly we can find ourselves in a dangerous situation. It can be doing something rather edgy that we've gotten by with-sometimes for years.  For some of us, damaged body parts are part of our education.  You passed this class, I doubt that we will be reading about a repeat.

Glad more damage wasn't done,

Best be careful, If your wife is like mine, she'd confiscate my tractor keys and only leave me with a hoe when I was left alone. :)

Ouch!

I'm going to chime in with the others - you were extremely lucky - like many times in the past.  Got to wonder when that luck might run out.

If that Ford in your driveway is an 8n, @Mike'sHorseBarn is right - only slightly safer.  It is bigger and can damage you easier, but since it is bigger, it offers a bit more protection.  Mine has had 2 tries at me.  I stayed in the seat both times and ended up just shaken, not stirred.

Any time we get on one of these machines, we need to remind ourselves that they will injure or kill us as easily as working for us.

I had Clyde, the C-195 out today to move a trailer around.  Lots of on and off sort of activity.  Before I got off, i set the brake, and disengaged the granny before I got off.

Maybe you should install a seat switch in the ignition circuit.
