60" Deck Carrier

Recommended Posts

Bill D

I'm toying with the idea of converting a 48" Husqvarna mower deck for use.  I'd like some measurements from a 60" deck.  Since the Husqvarna spindles stick up higher than the Wheel Horse spindles, clearance between the center pulley and deck carrier is an issue.

1. How high from the top plate  to the top of the center Double pulley?

2.  How high from the deck top plate to the bar between the front mounting brackets?

3.  How high from the top plate to the pivot on the rear brackets that bolt to the deck?

4.  Dors anyone have a deck carrier assembly from a 60" deck they'd like to sell?

Thanks.

@Bill D  second photo down , notice the LONG UNSUPPORTED BELT RETURN ?  one of the things I have regularly done to all my decks , is to add a 3" flat pulley to the top of the deck just about where that center lift rod is ? pushing belt slightly forward toward front of deck , also , cleaned out and re greased that  , with  lucas xtra  hd chassis grease , 550 deg flash point  , also did all related spindle bearings .mule drive , that  unchecked belt bounce , is what helps bearings fail , why not eliminate it ?  often refer to , mule  drive belt  moving deck with ease , that entire related rotational set up , can  engage and move easily . often refer to a problem spot as a  maintenance gold mine . also improved the  PTO lever start mount point , just an opportunity , pete

@c-series donI know you have one of these decks.  Would you mind taking some measurements for me?  I'd appreciate it,  thanks.

@Bill D   do this to all my decks , very easy  / simple  , thats a 3 " flat idler pulley  . single hole drill in deck , notice the very slight pulley to belt deflection ? amazingly  efficient  / effective . also realise that  related belt bounce is due to  bearing  lubrication  breakdown . just use the picture reference for fit , effect . done a lot of similar connection , to levers , rod ends . firming up / enhancing basic , intension . like comparing a rusty connection to a HEIM JOINT , no comparison. you can do this . like a threadless bolt to pulley  area to enhance movement , washer  on bottom of bolt  to deck , washer on pulley to deck and washer on top of pulley  with  elastic lock nut . have same set up on 3 decks , many hours . no issues . dare to eliminate  a problem . pete
