Terry M-(Moderator) 2,227 #1 Posted Saturday at 09:58 PM Years ago I picked up this short frame plow and today I decided to put it together. Long story short, it won’t mount up to the existing bracket as the part of the plow frame is too wide for the bracket. I’ve never dabbled with this type of implement before. so…sounding stupid..do I have an odd plow or do I need a different mounting bracket. bracket originally came on this tractor…Guess I could research but thought maybe a quick answer was to be found here.. model stamping on the tag is hard to read…possibly BD 4254 or 4257.
squonk 43,811 #2 Posted Saturday at 10:20 PM I think if the left bracket Ron the right and the right was on the left it would work. I ran into something similar once but don't remember how I solved it. The plow looks right. 2
stevasaurus 23,279 #3 Posted Saturday at 10:27 PM It is the right plow for your horse Terry. They do make two different brackets. One for your series plow and one for the "B" & "C" type horses. The plow blade either mounts outside the locking do-hickies or the do-hickies are on the inside.

moe1965 766 #6 Posted Saturday at 10:30 PM I like the idea of the quick removable pin to switch out the hitch. I'm going to do the same to mine

As I remember the brackets on our 604 we had back in the 60's were not connected together.
Terry M-(Moderator) 2,227 #10 Posted Saturday at 11:14 PM Here’s a pic of the bracket removed …definitely won’t work…this shows the difference a lot better.. I’ll have @wheelhorseman check this out..

Terry M-(Moderator) 2,227 #12 Posted Saturday at 11:27 PM I’m guessing I have a newer plow than my 606 would have used back in 1966?
squonk 43,811 #13 Posted Saturday at 11:27 PM (edited) The bracket you have looks like to me a long frame plow bracket. If you were to cut off the connector piece, turn the brackets around, connect to the plow on the shiny outer part it would work. I may consider doing that…or I may just find a correct bracket…I thought at one time I had one that wasn’t connected between sides…I’ll need to dig in my parts boxes and see.. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,482 #16 Posted Sunday at 01:36 AM The early brackets bolted to the front of the square axle housing - not the bottom like later models. Best guess
