National Leave Work Early Day on June 2 is for those of you who find yourself living to work instead of working to live. The annual holiday was founded by employee productivity expert Laura Stack in 2004 to raise awareness of the benefits of increased workplace productivity. When the unofficial holiday falls on a weekend, the day is celebrated on either Friday, June 1, or Monday, June 3. The purpose of National Leave the Office Early Day is to demonstrate how making small adjustments in the way we approach our work can greatly improve the results of our work, allowing workers to become more productive while in the office and spending fewer hours working in the office.

No such thing here - for my last 4 or 5 jobs.

The biggest kick in the teeth was my last Employer. We all HAD to participate in the Cost Reduction Program - we were all given a target goal for the upcoming year at our individual Annual Performance Review.

Anyhoo, one year The CBC (Corporate Bean Counters) mandated that we had to justify our existance by covering & negating the cost the Employer kicked in for our Health Coverage. My Mandatory contribution was just over $35K..... come up short and would reflect poorly on next year's Review....:bitch:

@953 nut  never worked in an office ,  learned  from the negative  AURA , of others  to stay away from them , and never trust them , by the way those same people were always  kissing up to the boss , and would easily  screw you over , only a small hand full of  retired similar  pfizerites , around . only one , was very solid , worked with him , traveled , fished  with him , regularly laugh at each other , exchange  flies when  floating on pontoon boats . learned what , not to do , from others . merrill lynch based over 20+ years , best investment , ever done . just look at things differently , my wife was an office manager , at a nursing home , her insight into just about anything coming our way , is quickly dispatched, her technical / reading skills are scary , quickly eliminates the INTENDED CONFUSION , written into forms . have also  passed this thought on to our adult , son / daughter . they will both be retired in less than 8 years .  retired, pete

I may not have said it the way Pete did, but the result would be the same.  :confusion-confused:

"Being retired means...thinking of doing nothing, is somethng to do."  :occasion-xmas:

I still get on the LinkedIn website, mostly to keep up on the Automotive News.

Occasionally, I see a "Work Aniversary" for someone I used to work with at their newer job. I reply that it's nice to see young folks employed, paying taxes, so that I can goof off, play with tractors & collect my Social Security check once a month....

I'm sure that makes their day..

Hmmm,  I was self employed so those benefits weren't part of my package.  However, if a fellow is self motivated, self employment has other advantages.  Now that I'm retired after 52 years, it's pretty nice.

Ha, I worked right up to the last bell today. The advisor was kicking my butt out the door and I was still trying to put tools away.

Boss left an  hour early today though, so that's something.

MRO here for a commercial printer and bindery. Industrial wiring, rigging, installation, repair and operation of high speed book binding machinery. Retired after 45 years, 25 with the last employer.

If I took any time off, you would think the world would end!

Worked part time in retirement until the company bought an all digital machine that any nitwit could run by touchscreen.

Not even a kiss before getting f**ked on the way out. I'm not bitter. :bitch:
