The frame is tweaked considerably.  For what I need, it’ll still work just fine.

@Pullstart  always wanted one of those , have a number of yard side trimming issues that would be perfect for it . of course  a thorough functiona detailing , idlers , wheel swivels  lubing . make the rust run out , then red aerosol grease , extension tube detailing , pete

I could not understand the pictures or descriptions of moving the tensioner spring, so I decided I’d build a tensioner.  I think it works much better, and after the belt slipping and smoking a bit last night, it should perform great!

A sharp knife is easily safer than a dull one :banana-jumprope:

Very cool!

The spring tensioner’s two jobs are to accommodate belt wear and to let the belt slip when the blade hits an obstruction but not when it’s just hitting grass! With your copious free time, you could probably add a spring to your souped up tensioner!

@Handy Don    look at  second deck pulley picture , note the added idler pulley  to typically unsupported , long stretch of belt , added that to all my decks , also every bearing , re greased with lucas green grease  , quiet smooth  operation , no bearing noise , pete

@Pullstart that sure looks easy, but these 70+ arms are not going to pick up any implement that easily.

I’m sure a floor jack would help :handgestures-thumbupright:
