I think I may need the day off

Join the Phone in Sick Day celebrations, and let us honor the worker and his rights. Phone in Sick Day is celebrated on May 1 every year. It is a day set aside to appreciate the average working-class citizen and give him a day of rest. Phone in Sick Day is celebrated as casually as it sounds, but the motivations are more nuanced. People call in sick on this day to protest against longer work hours, less free time, a decreased quality of life, and to voice their displeasure with the “rat race” of modern living. Unfortunately this holiday is not available to retired people, they don’t get a day off even if they are actually sick.

We retired workers get to sleep in 'til 8 instead of 7 am.   Who said retired people don't still work,   I work so much now, I don't know how I had time for a job.  Or maybe it just seems like work now because I move slower.

You obviously don't have a cat.

It ain't work if you are enjoying what you are doing. If it doesn't bring you joy then why are you doing it? Over the past nineteen years of retirement I have built several houses and countless wheel chair ramps with Habitat for Humanities, done two major renovation projects at my church and built a new home for my wife and I, but none of that was work because I loved doing it.

In my entire work life, I don't recall ever phoning in sick. That's just me.

:confusion-confused:            You can't call in sick on your day off,   :D     however you can have a relapse on your next schooled work day.

Hold on, working people get to sleep until 7?

On the days that I get to sleep in I'm still moving by 6:45.
