I might try and get away little earlier than I had planned and get there Thursday morning. I hate to miss out on any deals lol.... and fun.... What time can we get in Thursday morning?

We unload the tractors on Thursday and leave them there until we leave to go home. There is a large barn they can be parked in at night if need be.

I also leave my road trailer at the fairground after locking its hitch.

Many of us also bring pop-up canopies to hang out (especially nice for a passing shower or hot sun) along with a lawn chair or two. We mostly set up along the main “loop”--easy to see how it works when you arrive.

I need the name of the Italian Restaurant for Wednesday night.

@wallfish Honestly I’m not sure if it’s the one in the apple orchard. When I said “We” booked it what I really meant was my wife booked it 😂 I don’t get involved in that part of any trip that we go on, because anyplace I would book would for some reason be the wrong one if you know what I mean!! I let her pick the place it’s just way easier in more ways than one!
@Dan 312-8 There will always be room for you along the back wall !!

@c-series don thank you so much! Count me in! So, it will only be me again this year. My daughter and her family from VA Beach will be making a Northeast Tour starting in Connecticut, then PA and then finishing up at Long Beach Island in NJ. They'll arrive in PA hopefully on Father's Day, head to the Jersey shore the next Saturday. I told my wife, and daughter would make my world if they would show up at the show on Friday with my granddaughter, so I can give her a ride in "her" 4-wheeled wagon. We could put both of our granddaughters in it together! Thanks brother!

Gates open at 9:00 AM, and then it's first come first served for spots, camping, selling or displaying. However, for some still not-understood reason, there will already be some guys inside and set up shead of everyone else. :scratchead:

9AM sharp may be the new target for arrival..... Google map shows about 6 1/2 / 7 hour drive so 2 am departure time seems appropriate. Dang that's early . Hope its worth it :violin:....

Don't "knock yourself out " to be there at 9. There will be a line anyway so unless you're there by 7:30 you won't be in the front. We got there at around 9:30 last and pretty much drove in. Being your first time you will most likely be going from place to place there so won't be much need to set up a "home base" anyway. Takes a couple of hours for most guys to get set up and the big parts vendors are usually still unpacking 5 hours later. There's always plenty of room under the canopies for kabitzing along the way.

I should make a sign for my tent and the picnic table at the Motel.

Wednesday night dinner has yet to be determined. Last year the Italian Village had a big birthday party going on and couldn't accommodate another large group. @Pullstart found an alternate location for that evening. We will just have to play it by ear and see what works out this year. As we get closer to show time and have an idea how many will be coming to dinner one of us can call around and make a reservation.

My understanding is that Friday is usually the best day anyway, as far as parts shopping and deal making goes. Saturday at 11 is when you find out how little someone will actually accept for something.

Thursday is the "Best Day " for catching up and shooting the breeze. Sometimes you can strike a deal helping to "unload" something off of a trailer.

This place is larger than the Italian Village and was very hospitable to our impromptu group’s arrival. I’m sure with a reservation it’d be a good choice for a larger crowd!

Nope. Did it once and that's enough. Not everyone wants to eat at the same place or time. Couldn't get a solid head count. It worked out that one time but it was a pain in the hoo hah

About two weeks in advance I will do a Wednesday Dinner opinion  poll to see how many people want to go where for the pre-show dinner.

I am open to any suggestions including Italian Village and the Hickory Ridge. I have eaten at a few other places in the Chambersburg area that could workout. I will include links to the restaurant menus to help people decide. if you have other suggestions let me know via PM and they will be included.

Franchise places like Texas Roadhouse aren't set up for groups like ours that want to hang out and talk after dinner so I won't include them.

There fixed that.

Actually being in line to get in is enjoyable. Get the jump on yakking with the others waiting. Walk around and stretch after that long ride.

The Dino once told me Thursday is the best day to be there and he is right. Friday flies by awful quick.

The thirsty farmer in Biglerville has adult beverages and decent food.  Not much for atmosphere, though.

That is a rather long ride from the Quality Inn, Chambersburg. Can they accommodate a group of twenty hanging out for a couple of hours?

Some of the earliest bargaining takes place while people are lined up awaiting the open of the gates.

Twenty might fill the place.

Isn't the show in Biglerville?  At the fairgrounds?

Catered meal directly on site at the "tailgate of knowledge" at the hotel. Guessing it would be about $20-$25 a person (everyone pays in advance)

Just throwing it out there
