Hydro cam follower arm ready to install.

1134597285_Camfollowerarmreadytoinstall.JPG.44736aec3d45e0fd04243faf6e70ae37.JPG

Hydro cam follower arm installed.

I put a tint bit of never seize on the male threads but kept the taper dry.

Nut tightened by hand (I was afraid an impact would over tighten and possibly crack the arm on the taper) while holding the arm so as not to break anything in the hydro unit.

Hydro speed control cam plate assembly ready to install.

This machine will have foot control so no tension washers are needed.

Instead, I punched out some Teflon washers so cam plate will pivot freely.

Hydro speed control cam plate locknuts installed.

Nut on bushing stud was firmly tightened.

Nut on washers was just turned in until there was little to no free play but the plate will pivot side to side freely.

Bolt tightened.

You will need a 1" and a 1/2" wrench to do this.

@JCM has one of these on a rebuilt transmission that's broken basically in half.

How does that get removed from the transmission?

Special puller?

I just loosen the nut a few turns and then use a small 2 jaw puller.

Once it pops free of the taper it should just lift off once the nut is removed.

Do not pry on it or force it in either direction loosening or tightening the nut as internal transmission damage could occur.

Fuel tank supports ready to be bolted to fender support bracket.

Fuel tank supports and fender support bracket laid down flat on the front side.

Bolts all loosely installed after getting a smear of never seize to prevent galling (these are SS bolts).

Fender bracket assembly ready to install.

Note the liquid Teflon sealant used on the bolt threads to keep water out and oil in.

Do not use Teflon tape as bits of it may end up in the hydro unit causing issues down the road.

Tractor ready to receive fender bracket.

816160472_Tractorreadytorecievefenderbracket.JPG.6229be88618e7e7307bb401a490398fd.JPG

Sealant was applied to the bolts ensuring there is none on the end of the bolts to get into the transmission.

828822106_Sealantonbolts.JPG.4afd58e566bc8bd271fe054886d19892.JPG

Fender bracket sat into place then the bolts were screwed in finger tight.

I then measured between the fender bracket and the hood stand on both sides and fender bracket was moved until the measurements were the exact same on both sides.

There is just enough free play in the bolt holes for a bit of adjustment.

This should ensure the fender bracket is square and even.

Note the extra set of holes for the filter base mount in the fender support bracket.

I use two small chisels facing in opposite directions one on each side of the base of the arm. Tap them lightly a couple of times each and the arm will pop off.
