James, it was my pleasure to be a part of this build (by phone), your transmission looks fantastic.  :USA:  :occasion-xmas:   By the way, this was a learning experience for me also.  Nice #110996 4 pinoin 8 speed.

Finally had some time to put more together, it started and ran😁

Only problem was it would not shut off and I had to pull the plug wire. I did cut the harness down so🤷‍♂️

I had to add a wire here, I can’t remember if I pulled power from the start side or magneto side of ignition switch.

I believe this is the problem.

any suggestions

Congratulations on completing your restoration, looks good.

The magneto side of your ignition switch should never see any voltage. The "M" terminal should be grounded when the switch is OFF and have no continuity to anything in the ON and START positions.

The failure to shut off could be not having a ground on the ignition switch body.

I have very limited electrical knowledge, there is a ground wire on the ignition switch thats grounded to the frame.

Lets do a bit of trouble shooting.  With the engine running and the PTO on if you leave the seat does the engine quit running? If it doesn't then the dark blue wire from the PTO switch which joins a wire from the ignition switch "M" terminal is not connected to the engine. That is the wire that should shut down  the engine.

There is a five terminal connector (only four wires go through it) between the engine and the wiring harness. There is a light blue wire and a dark blue wire coming from the oil level switch at the base of your engine, ignore them.

There is another dark blue wire that goes to the magneto on the engine and the PTO / ignition switch in the harness. If you have an ohm meter (or a friend that can come over and help) you can probe that dark blue wire and check it. With the key OFF that dark blue wire should read zero ohms to ground and should have no reading with the ignition key in the run position and the PTO off.

Let us know what you find.

Thank you. All the safety switches have been removed along with the circuit board.

I will try tomorrow

Actually 8.50 Carlisle ags are some of the most effective tires you can put on these tractors.

Wider look better, but traction suffers without a heckuva lot of weight added.

This tractor looks very nice so far!

I bet with a good cleanup those tires will look much better.

Your tractor may steer just fine but I notice your tie rods are on an angle due to being on the wrong side of the lower steering shaft.

If you put them in from the front like this they will be straight.
