It's a water repellent. PB-blaster, Kroil, Liquid Wrench, Deep Creep are all better choices.

If possible, flip an engine over for one or two seconds so everything gets a splash of oil. Let it drain down for a few hours before attempting a start. c-series don 10,791 #29 Posted 6 hours ago @Curtis H I’m wondering what ever became of this tractor? I realize he’s not on here anymore but maybe someone knows what happened with it? Definitely one of the nicest C-165’s I’ve ever seen.

c-series don 10,791 #31 Posted 5 hours ago @Brockport Bill As you can see this guy made this one post and then never responded or posted an update. I know it’s a long shot but figured I’d revive this thread and see if anyone knew what happened with it? I don’t think @stevebo ended up it ?

Brockport Bill 2,123 #34 Posted 2 hours ago there are some contridictions looking at photos -- i have a 1980 c165-8 -- and the color in certain places do not match my tractor -- my pto pulley is red - this posted photo its black --- the trangular shape bracket that holds the pto lever arm doesn't match my pto brake bracket which is red - my pto arm and the trunion are not the shiny color as the shiny color silver in these photos - the hardware on this tractors seat platform connecting to the seat pan fender look almost brand new bolt heads -- there are inconsistances -- which may mean different manufacturing years???? Buit my i.d. decal indicates mine is a 1980 and the poster says this a 1980 -- but different things do not match. anyone have any thoughts if this posted tractor is all original, or maybe restored?
