From what I have read people just fill it up with some silicone but I just can't make myself do that. I would rather just leave the shafts in place. The last two I tried- first went in easily, second stopped about half way and I wasn't willing to really hit it hard enough to go further. I just cut it off and ground it down. On an engine with no oil pressure it would probably be fine.... and I wouldn't do that either. AlexR 2,691 #315 Posted March 16 I got that other balance gear out, I don't doubt you got yours out @Achto but there was no way I was going to get mine out without pulling the crankshaft or what I ended up doing like @Pullstart did and drove that pin out. I decided not to precut that pin I will just cut it flush with how far in I was able to drive it. Installed new crank seals and got it cleaned up as much as I could inside, it's very cold and windy outside today. I'm also pretty positive this is was a replacement engine because there is gray paint that wasn't ever painted over and the only red paint on it is that same chalky paint that I stripped off the rest of the tractor. 5 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I left a couple runs in the paint on the foot rests and have had a couple scratches because some paint hasn't cured long enough yet.
