kpinnc 10,756 #76 Posted February 25 Almost done with this little fella, so I rolled it out in the sunshine today. All tractors need a little sunshine, especially those with fresh paint! The cows didn't seem interested for whatever reason. Still got a few more things to do. Electrical, decals (ships tomorrow from Terry), and yes- finish painting the front wheels. The quality is amazing, and the attention to detail as well. Guess I need to hurry up and finish this one. My Kohler letters moved accidentally but I fixed them. kpinnc 10,756 #83 Posted March 3 (edited) Didn't get to do much tonight. I had some other stuff to do, so it was late when I started. As usual, unforseen issues popped up that had to be corrected. Bad starter solenoid- replaced. Pinhole in the fuel tank- soldered. Bad rectifier pushing 19VDC! Pic below was at idle! Replaced rectumfryer, and now charging at 14VDC. Stator is outputting 21.5 VAC. I need a new throttle cable. This one works, but is too short to route correctly. But now at least she's running! Carb adjustment probably needs fine tuning, but the puddle of gas distracted me... kpinnc 10,756 #89 Posted March 4 Pretty much done! ...a few things to touch up, but the belt guard turned out sorta ok- got some dimples, but not terrible. The first pic below is what I started out to mimic. This machine actually started as a L157, so everything from the steering wheel back was made to look like 62-64 model as best I could. Anyway- this is the final look. Little rascal drives great. Low range with 8 inch wheels is like time stands still! Of course, before my son can drive it- it'll get safety switches in the pedals, or some form of bolt-on running boards. His feet barely reach the pedals, so he can't drive alone yet.... A little timid, but he enjoyed the test drive. ...and I thought I was almost finished with it!
