This reminds me of a story: Years ago my oldest brother brought a rabbit home for Mom to cook. This was not out of the ordinary. It was a good sized rabbit. Back then Mom cooked game in a pressure cooker to help tenderize it. When it was done she pulled it out and it looked like a stringy old mop head. My mother had a recipe my Dad brought from Germany (In German and now long lost) which was the greatest as I recall. Fried in a spiced cream souse. We are still Mommy and Daddy, she is still our kid. The food there, it has no comparison to anything here. I recall my Aunt (my Father's sister) making that when I was young. Both are sadly gone, the rabbits live on.... I DO miss the warm German Potato salad with vinegar and sugar my Father would make in the summertime. He installed a 12" thru the wall fan with automatic closing cover in the kitchen like a restaurant would have; it faced the house next door, only about 30 feet away. The next door neighbor married a "Domestic Princess" - had the cleanest stove on the street, she NEVER cooked. Dad would get the fan going when frying fish or making the potato salad, the phone would ring. It was George next door, constructively griping that the smell was killing him!! Pullstart 59,720 #20 Posted February 6, 2023 We were away from the house all weekend. Cats stayed inside and rabbits were running everywhere last night! Today, not much different.
