May go look at this one for what the guy's askin.

Dan seems to think it has a peerless tranny. Note the "extra" one in the pic. Peerless for a vert fer sure.

The write up...

THIS TRACTOR HAS A REBUILT K161 ENGINE. NOT UP AND RUNNING. 2 HOODS NOT PICTURED. EXTRA TRANSAXLE AND OTHER PARTS. MOWER DECK IS NOT ATTACHED. ALL OF THIS IS SOLD AS ONE PACKAGE.

Looks just like the Commando 800 (horizontal shaft and Unidrive) that I picked up at auction a few years back.  I just think the seller has no idea that Peerless doesn’t belong in the bunch.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

Interesting the k161 is rebuilt, but not up and running. Definitely need to find out more about seller definition of “rebuilt”

In 1973 they had different 8 4-speeds. The ones with the Kohler horizontals had the unidrives and the ones with the Tecky verticals had the Peerless.............I think. :)

I think there was an A-90 that was a horizontal crank motor to a peerless tranny. It could be a Peerless

Looks pretty original, the deck looks decent too from what you can see in the pic.

Definitely worth looking at.

Gotta be one of the ones with the Kohler Bob ... 1-0370?? ain't figured out why the seller says 161 tho.

Find out gonna go get it next week for a franklin. 'Bout time I got a good deal with the beating I'm taking on a 1054....  He's gonna send me the numbers on the tag.

Is that a Simplecity seat @Achto? If not reminds me of one.

Nevermind the rims Pullhosen... I just remembered I have some on a parts tractor so the tens are yours.

Plan might be to swap with those with the house mule Raider 12 I am going to let go which has ags and weights on it. Maybe plow with no name just for the halibut & fun and to say we plowed with a small block. Maybe tie a 8 in Brinly on?!?!

Talked with the seller tonite and he now realizes that the Peerless doesn't belong with it. He says he didn't want to run the motor cause he didn't have the air cleaner for it.  Pssst  I thought when did this bother us. Also the old timer that did the rebuild died and he didn't want to mess with it.

I know a guy I told him. :)

Relaxxxx... they was pretty much parts tractors so I pretty much give em to them and it was the Iowa Boys who come to plow day EVERY year unlike some others we know who havta go round and round... although the 1277 was worth it. That one run and drove. Abit pigeon toed but still ...:)

More like 3 holes in the hedge row! ( I would have said 3 spots to mow grass but we all know Jim's lawn is like an old man's comb over!)

Those little 8 horse 4 speeds had unusually long axles to make up for the offset of the 10 inch rear wheels. I bought one several years back just for that reason. I thought I could use those longer axles for a row crop tractor that never materialized... At least not yet anyway.

This’n came with those long axles.  I used C series front spindles to give it a real wide stance.
