Heatingman 941 #1 Posted August 30, 2022 Thumbing through the K series engine manual, I noticed that on the general schematics, they dont show a light wired in on the 25 amp alternator coil, but they do on the 30 amp. Does that indicate the 25 amp wont support head lights?

subvet720 179 #3 Posted August 30, 2022 (edited) I made a few post on the regulated 12VDC power supply I made using 4 diodes and a buck converter. With LED headlights ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075QZHXC6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ) and the 12VDC power supply, my K241 runs lots of LED lights because the current draw in minimal. 953 nut 52,173 #4 Posted August 30, 2022 The headlights furnished with your Wheel Horse were 35 Watts each, that is about three amps each (six amp draw for lights). If your engine has a battery powered ignition it will draw four amps so the total likely draw is 10 Amps.
subvet720 179 #5 Posted August 30, 2022 The LED headlamp bulbs only draw 0.75 amps, are much brighter and will outlast the driver of the tractor

Whats the necessity of a second rectifier/regulator? Or is this in place of the OEM?

This is in addition to the OEM rectifier/regulator. This allows you to set up multiple DC voltages (3V, 5V, 12v) for LED components that may be sensitive to unstable voltage spikes. Additionally, it's cool because you made it for ~$4 Edited August 31, 2022 by subvet720
