Detached wires

Recommended Posts

1973Auto

Hi. I found 2 detached wires from my Kohler courage 18hp SV540. I believe the orange wire is attached to the rectifier. I can not see where the purple wire is attached without removing the starter. I am thinking this may be the reason my battery is not charging. I can not tell which wires coincide with the correct wires on the opposite side of the wire jack. The wires on the opposite side of the jack are Red orange black blue white. The side where the orange and purple wires detached are red and white. I tried to push the wires back in the holes but they do not stay so I will pigtail them to the opposite side. So after all this what dies the orange and purple wires marry up to on the other side of the jack? I hope the pics are clear. Thanks

If you would tell us the year and model number of your tractor it would help.

This manual should be helpful. Also if you attach the photo rather than a link that won't open on my computer could be helpful

It is from a Husqvarna,  my junk mowing tractor. The engine is about 7 years old. I will download the pics from a different computer. New phone,

I noticed the wiring diagrams in the manual above show some color to some of them but it is faint.

I noticed it also. I was hoping that some had this engine and they could take a pice of this wire jack
