Wheel Horse 520 Fuse Block Wiring

Recommended Posts

Bow_Extreme

For those who want an original fuse block setup on your Wheel Horse 520, here’s an option:

Fuse Block & Connectors:

Fuse Block:  12004943 Delphi Pack-Con III Black 4 Way Fuse Block Connector

ATC Fuse Terminals:  12020335-L Delphi Pack-Con III Female Terminal for 16-14 AWG

Two Position/Terminal Buss Bar:  12004563 Delphi Pack-Con III Female Terminal for 16-14 AWG

Crimp Tool:
Astro 9477 w/Open Barrel & D-Sub, v3.5(H) jaws.  These crimpers work fairly well for these terminals but, the buss bar terminal is a little challenging.  Almost need a custom crimp tool set for the buss bar.  A little creativity will get you there.

Installing this will avoid splices and odd or oversized wire combinations which can cause issues.

You can buy a Dorman 85668 for as little as $3.14 and it has the connectors, of course there is shipping.   You can get them at some local auto parts stores as well.

When you have the fuse block out, add a 15 amp SAE connector to the fourth position for accessories.

@Bow_Extreme  like the improvement idea , https://www.amazon.com/XHF-Spiral-Cable-Wrapping-  . regularly use these , and the opportunity to RE ROUTE  WIRING LAY OUT  , eliminate wire chafing  / tight binding  set ups , increase your grounding from the battery ground cable bolt down point to your layout , don,t count on a being there , start it from this point . used to have wiring issues ,  eradicated  the mess , verified function , corrected every step as I  went along . BTW  , how does your  PTO LEVER WORK ? , notice rusty / crusty , no insults intended , added 3/8 - 7/16 , washers grease at the start point next to battery , firmed it up for very smooth / solid action , also added a HEIM  joint to the end , removed trunnion ,  eliminate any scraping , dragging , works like it should ,  been there , pete

Thanks for the info.  Yes, I’m aware of these issues and I’ve done very similar to what you have.  I’m working towards starting this tractor first.  After I confirm it runs well, I will take care of those things.

@Bow_Extreme thanks for the reply , glad you are in the baseline maintenance mind set , getting things in a reliable  function , is what you will grow on in many ways . nagging trouble can be stopped , just go step by step , verify function /  action at every change . that way you know where its bad . easy to back up , improve , move on , regularly use these ,  https://www.amazon.com/WGGE-WG-026-Pieces-Colors-Alligator/dp/B06XX25HFX/ref=asc_df_B06XX25HFX?tag=bingshoppinga-  makes a wire mess easier to plan out , only a reference , if you can get them locally , easier . had a number of chronic issues , ironically  today those areas are my most reliable . keep in touch , pete
