23 Reo 28 #1 Posted July 25 How do I test a starting relay and a PTO safety switch on a 1994 416?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 8,318 #2 Posted July 25 Download this file for wiring. The diagram for the start circuit may help. You may have the same relay used in another circuit so trading them may be an option. Very popular relay so should be easy to get a spare. Different relay but this explains how they work and how to test Pto switch 1
Pullstart 43,893 #3 Posted July 25 Do you have a meter? Continuity will be your friend!
23 Reo 28 #4 Posted July 25 Yes, I have a meter and know how to use it. I also have a nice test light that shows volts. I am still learning electrics, but can do the job when instructed.
23 Reo 28 #5 Posted July 27 Tested the relays and the're good. On to the safety switches. Thank you, Dave
23 Reo 28 #6 Posted August 5 Will a faulty oil pressure switch keep the Onan 216 from starting?

The oil pressure switch turns on the oil pressure lamp when there is no pressure, on some models it also turns on the hour meter when there is pressure. There is no other function, so the answer is no.
23 Reo 28 #8 Posted August 6 (edited) Is there a neutral safety switch on my 1994 416? Is it the same switch as the parking brake switch? If there is an independent neutral switch where is it's location? Edited August 6 by 23 Reo
