To an extent it's already there.

I've been mulling over some sort of documentation of our appreciation in the form of something wood burned into a beam or whatever...

Got another lumber delivery today.

One of those two posts is now the back wall overhead beam. The smaller piece of PT on top of the sheet goods (Advantech) is a diagonal for the back wall.

I believe the Advantech is for the 2nd floor.

Nature abhors a horizontal surface.  Crap expands to fill all voids.

The builders doing the main part of the work here have been great to get along with.

They're trying to help out when possible about getting certain parts pre painted that'll be high off the ground.

They built the gables a couple days early so Trina would have a chance to paint the trim.

That happened this morning.

We're scheduled for the crane Tuesday.

I'm not seeing nailers built into the trusses for siding.  :scratchead:

They don't have the sizes or quantity of the windows yet, or the accurate spacing.

First floor ceiling height varies on all his buildings because they don't always do the site excavation. Also depth of poles varies.  These things will dictate the position of the stairway later which in turn will dictate the position of the windows on the back wall in particular.

I'm talking about the trusses themselves, where the painting was done. there's nothing below the fascia boards to fasten siding to.

Oh oh oh.

I imagine that'll get added on from the inside or they'll flip the trusses Monday to finish the build.

They were left this way specifically so we could paint.

I'll be curious to see what happens too.

In the last 2 pics. Is the trim nailed to the trusses already or just placed for painting.

I just looked the pics over again. Is the trim set off from the face of the truss by a second piece?

They are. Here's a couple of close-ups.

I can see the pocket now, that just might suffice in giving the siding a place to rest.

I forget now are you using wood or steel as your siding? I'm thinking you mentioned wood though.

Wood siding. Steel roof.

The image below you can see two tarps. The one on the left is covering the half unit that isn't painted. The one on the right or straightforward is a half unit that's already painted green.

We would build a pocket like that for steel siding, much the same for wood also. So I approve :teasing-poke:
