BTupper 2 #1 Posted June 4, 2022 Finally got the transaxle removed and split apart. Reduction gear is broken. Can't find parts any where. Also can't match numbers stamped into transaxle to any literature I can find? Thanks
ebinmaine 72,402 #2 Posted June 4, 2022 Parts are readily available for our tractors. Do feel free to place an ad in our classified section. Lincoln at A to Z Tractor in PA should also be able to help out with some parts. Wheelhorse Parts and More sells some parts like bearings and seals.
JoeM 8,288 #3 Posted June 5, 2022 There are lots of doner transmissions out there, my last one did not fail but had a lot of rust like yours. When you clean it up, pay close attention to the bearings. They are quite expensive and it may be the reason to go to a doner. This is a bearing that has pitting and flat spots just for an example. That's pretty rough shape might be beyond economical repair?

oliver2-44 10,680 #6 Posted June 5, 2022 Since this is your 1st WH transaxle may I suggest you go to the Instructional Threads section of the forums. @stevasaurus out transmission guru has made videos of rebuilding most of them. Also after you get everything cleaned up post pictures of your gears, axles, hubs, etc. The guys here may spot some wear areas your not aware of. Thanks for saving a horse.

stevasaurus 23,274 #9 Posted June 5, 2022 The numbers on the transmission really don't mean anything to us. Each case half has a part number, and a casting date. That is all we look at. You should have a #110996 Wheel Horse transmission. It is an 8 speed with hi/low range selector. It has 4 pinion differential with 1" axles. This thread will probably help a bunch. The only difference between this trans and yours is this one has an 8 pinion differential with 1 1/8" axles. BTW...Welcome to Red Square. The manual that gwest posted above will give you exploding view with part numbers.
