Very cool! :handgestures-thumbupright:

How about some more details…?

Motor type.

Voltage.

Battery type.

Connecting motor to frame system…

The motor was salvaged from a powered pallet jack, had it for a decade, I machined the gear off the shaft and fitted a pulley.
the voltage for motor was 12v but I increased it to 16 to get enough rpm.
batteries are lithium 3.5 volt. I simply made a aluminum plate to widen surface area and fit motor and batteries to  the frame.

It is inefficient due to motor, but has a lot of torque with hydraulic drive, enough to roll a tire off rim while pulling a trailer.

I probably get 1/2 hour running time.

Nope, just a tug for trailers. Second generation is in the works, it will mow.

May want to post a build thread, as you progress, in the Electric Battery powered section. We’d love to tag along…

NNNIIIICCE..

Hopefully the power is there.

I do have 1 question for you... 'bout how long do those batteries last?

I just had to get some for my EZ-go... (that thing will last... going full throttle... forever and a day)...

Yeah I'd agree with that.

Not something I'd have a need to build right away but the technology and the work behind it is pretty fascinating.

If you start a build thread please do feel free to give my name a mention so I get called into it...

:text-yeahthat:

Me too.

Biggest problem I forsee... is cost of replacing those batteries over their... relatively short lifespan.

In 10 years... you may look back and wonder if it was worth it... :twocents-twocents:

Mowers take a lot of power, gen 2 will have a better motor and bigger batteries. I’m using some used batteries, so not sure on range

Using some 100ah lithium batteries from a EV I decommissioned, lighter weight

Hmm... lighter weight, yes, faster charging also. I LIKE IT!!! When can I pick it up?

Might need a butt-load more AH for mowing though... depending on land size. :handgestures-thumbupright:

I’ve done the math with estimated numbers and other unknowns probably won’t finish in one charge. But close. It takes 50 minutes with 60 inch ztr , but WH cut is smaller and it’s slower.

You must explain that word to me... I don't remember what it means...

No, seriously, I would imagine, the more load (i.e. taller grass, thicker grass) it would not last as long. BUT... GOSH you would look cool out there for however long it lasted on a John Deere garden tractor... mowing... in SILENCE... :greetings-clappingyellow:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I am converting a wheelhorse gt 1800, John Deere is gas ️. It won’t be silent, hydraulics and deck are pretty loud 😆

What sort of temperature control are you using on the lithium batteries - if any?

I have no heating in the batteries, I also have no bms I check balance periodically.
